DATE SET FOR GLASTONBURY APPLICATION DECISION

A new date has been set for the decision on Glastonbury’s license application. The festival organiser have applied for a four year license, taking them up to 2010, and is for an expanded capacity of 177,500 people.

Mendip council have confirmed a decision will be made after consulting relevant local bodies, residents and businesses on 26 March, just a week before tickets go on sale, and a whole month after the pre-registration period for tickets ends on 28th of February.

The new expanded capacity will, if approved allow another 27,500 people into the festival, although Glastonbury have tempered this with an attempt to get back to the festival’s environmental roots with a new "village green" area and greater use of coaches to transport fans.

Hi Brian - You need to have a registration number in order to purchase tickets - if you haven't already registered I'm afraid you won't be able to purchase tickets..

refresh just gets the reg page again. Tried registering again but says our numbers have been used.
Guess we just have to hope payment did go through and wait for confirmation email and/or the transaction to show up on my online banking.

For all of you that didn't get a ticket, im pretty sure that they also sell tickets at a later date for cancellations (people who cancel their tickets). they have don this in previous years. keep checkin the glasto web site.

PS. keep an eye out for a "STONE PENGE" flag in Glasto if u got tickets. Come over and say hello!!

all amounts to Greed if you ask me - you can't get on line so ring phone number and go in a queue whilst being charged for phone call, can't pay by credit card which I guess is so he doesn't have to pay credt card charges, doesn't want anyone else to profit from the event hence no touts - at least buying from them you have a choice! oh and must be laughing at the fact that 400 odd thousand people have been sitting in front of a computer all morning wasting their time......

Absolutely SJP - but you forgot to mention the inequality also - it's people with high speed broadband that are getting through I think, not to mention the phoneline staff that have probably reserved tickets for their mates not to mention all the corporate ticket sales!!

Just got on after refreshing the site from 9am only to find only coach tickets left. No use for me as you have to go out on a Weds and come back after 1am on Monday! Some of us have to work. Oh, and they hand out the tickets on the coach, so you can't make your own way there either. Oh well try again later when they're reissued I suppose... Please can we have a lottery next year Mr Eavis, I don't want to waste another 3 hrs of my life and just end up frustrated at the end of it. Love and Peace indeed.... :o(

After being on line all morning, plus with two mobiles & a landline on the go have just got through to the See Ticket Site, after god only knows how many refreshes, redials etc. This is just farcical, despite the oh so easy, it's so convenient, it stops the touts etc benefits of the internet I have yet again not got tickets this year. Maybe I should spend the grand & get a laptop upgrade but somehow I don't think this will do me any good next year or maybe just spend the dosh & rent their poxy hippy trippy teepee & be done with it but somehow I can't quite face it. If i had queued up for a couple of days at a ticket office or record store & failed to buy a ticket then I could at least come away knowing that as a fan of live music I gave it as good a go as I could. This is just far too frustrating & annnoying. Guess I'm going to V instead, nowhere near as good, barely even has half the feel, but at least I may get to see some bands.
To those lucky enough to get tickets in today's IT Lottey I wish you all a great weekend ! HOPE IT F**CKING RAINS LIKE A BAS*TARD & YOU ALL GET THE SH*TS !
Eavis : Please get it together next year, next year just allocate tickets based on postal registrations, with a telephone line where you can pay with a cc card or switch against your registration no. At best it'll save me a wasted sunday !,

cancellations ... 22 april will be 1 or 2 million ppl minus the 150,000 who now got tix, all desperately trying to snap up the 500 or so cancellations at the same bottlenecked seconds, but a bit lesss painfully? this time as they will go in 5 or 10 minutes.

127 odd thousand people have just transferred £150 each to Mr Eavis bank account direct erm thats £19,050,000..... earning interest daily (no credit cards accepted, also note no personal cheques -er why not?) now I know it costs money to run the event but how much? I imagine unlike lots of people Mr Eavis is having his best Sunday ever!!!!

I wish I could be happy that i managed to get tickets, but all i can see is people moaning about Eavis!!! If you didn't agree with Glastonbury festival and the way its run than you shouldn't have tried to get tickets in the first place!!!!

I don't think it really makes any diff what web URL's you put in seetickets.com, gigsandtours.com etc all go to the same server (try it start > run "CMD" then in the dos box type "ping www.seetickets.com" etc.
They're all IP address 212.41.185.220
Possibly putting 212.41.185.220
in your as the web address would have helped.
Also see on their site they have a mobile phone web booking option - did anyone try this? If glasto tickets are available this way it's another route to get in to them on the 22nd.

Constant pressing the redial and refresh buttons we yet again managed to get 8 tickets ( 4 on coach thou) but were sure after an hour on the coach with our mates they'll be happy to let them off! to get in the minibus with us! Trailing behind coach!
Successful each year at getting tickets and don't like it when touts them but we empathise to all who couldn't get tickets but we'll raise our glass to you all in June x

i used high speed broadband, a new laptop, two mobiles (calling and using internet), one landline and a skype headset- only got through once and they had just sold out. did anyone else cry- i just love glasto sooo much and can't get it how one guy got through three times - i know they had 7 phones on the go but i had nearly as many !!!!

Whining about having to buy coach tickets is c**p - the coach tickets are the extra capacity they got from the council ON CONDITION there wouldn't be more cars and the additional ppl would be coming by bus.
ie the coach & entrance tickets are additional to 2005 capacity and couldn't be sold as entrance only
