
"This was a real defining moment. 2005 was another really muddy year, maybe the worst ever. But then on the Sunday, miraculously, the sun came out. It was actually a really hot day. The land had started to dry out, so for the first time that weekend people were able to sit down to watch the bands. That really lifted the mood. And then Brian Wilson came on, mid afternoon, and just played the most perfect set.
"All the hits, one after the other. I've never seen such a happy-looking crowd. I'll always remember - there was one guy literally surfing over people's heads. He must have brought a surfboard to the festival especially for that moment. There was one guy in a canoe as well. Just bizarre. But it went so well with the music. And up onstage Brian himself looked ecstatic. What an amazing moment."
