Glastonbury Festival organizers are urging revellers to leave the toilet roll at home. They’re not advocating mass uncleanliness, nor for you to hold it in for the duration of the festival, but announcing a partnership with toilet tissue manufacturers Nouvelle that will provide every single festival-goer with a free roll of recycled loo paper.
It’s all part of the festival’s attempt to to reduce waste and encourage recycling. "We're encouraging people to be as green as possible at this year's Festival,” says Michael Eavis. “The definitive example of our policy is our decision to invite Nouvelle on board as an official recycling partner to the festival, to give away free recycled toilet tissue.
"Nouvelle is providing hundreds of thousands of free loo rolls and our message is very simple: Do not bring loo roll to the festival, there will be more than enough for everyone, and more importantly, it will be the right kind of loo roll." Nouvelle toilet tissue is made from 100% high quality recycled paper - from the roll to the core.
As well as handing out free recycled dunny rolls, Nouvelle is also helping with recycling collections at Glastonbury and will provide free colour coded bin bags to enable festival goers to segregate waste for recycling.
