Glastonbury is usually the best place to experience peace, love and the feeling of community, but Lily Allen was unfortunate enough to be set upon by some jealous teens one year at the festival. However, in a shock revelation, she revealed that her saviour was none other than super-clothes-horse Kate Moss.
The 21-year-old pop minx was speaking on This Morning yesterday (10 May) and tried to be drawn into a showbiz dispute over high street clothing lines. With both Allen and Moss launching their own brand of clobber in Top Shop and New Look respectively, it was expected that there would be some celebrity rivalry, but Lily immediately jumped to Kate’s defence.
"I only have nice things to say about her because she jumped to my defence a couple of years ago at Glastonbury Festival,” she said. "These girls were beating me up and she was the only person who stood in and said Leave her alone, you're being bullies.
"They stabbed me in the ear with a beer can and cut my ear open... I also had two black eyes. It was a bit of a nightmare! It was just girls being girls. I think one of them thought that I was sleeping with her boyfriend, which I wasn't.”
Proof enough that the spirit of Glastonbury can bring together the oddest couples.
