Avon and Somerset Police have launched their own special web site to keep crime and anti-social behaviour away from this year's Glastonbury Festival. The police presence has seen crime decrease almost 90 per cent in the past five years, with tales of robbings and tent thefts now a thing of the past.
With a mission statement of making Glastonbury 2007 the safest yet, the new site at www.avonandsomerset.police.uk\Glastonbury has information for people lucky enough to have a ticket, worried parents of those going to the festival and people who live around the village of Pilton.
There are tips on how to keep yourself safe, your tent and beer safe, how to report a crime, what the drugs policy is on site and what exactly the police are doing at Glastonbury 2007. "Our aim is to inform all ages and types of festival goers of how to stay safe and enjoy one of Europe's biggest musical events for all the right reasons," says an Avon and Somerset Police spokesman.
