Organisers of the Guinness World Record™ attempt which took place in the Lost Vagueness field at Glastonbury estimate that more than thirteen thousand people braved the knee high mud and puckered up for the snog which took place on Sunday morning at 1.30am after Madness performed their first Glastonbury set for 21 years and before Fat Boy Slim took to the stage dressed as a bumble bee...
Final statistics, statements and film and photographic evidence of the kiss will be submitted to Guinness World Records later this week but initial estimates put numbers of revellers present in Lost Vagueness at more than 25,000.
“We’re hoping that final counts will give us the couples required to break the record but the conditions were extreme,” says Hannah Scott of Match.com, who sponsored the kiss-off. “People were getting stuck in mud everywhere with participants reporting that it took them an hour or more to walk the half mile from the Pyramid stage to the Lost Vagueness field.”
We'll announce the results of the world record attempt as soon as we get them. In the meantime, did you participate in the snog-a-thon. Tell us your story - who was your partner and were they expecting it?
