If you want to catch a film at Glastonbury and you’re not keen on the blockbusters being shown at the Cinema Field, then there’s a treat in store for you this year. Future Cinema will present the Chinese Cinema Palace in the Lost Vagueness field. Inspired by the film In The Mood For Love, the tent will include vintage cinema seats, red coconut matting, red lanterns, old Chinese movie prints, and red lighting...
Glastonbury-goers will be able to retire in the cinema tent to watch a programme of international short films and music videos presented by Future Shorts, as performances from theatrical artists and “atmospheric projections”. Spooky.
Future Cinema are also encouraging festival goers to make films about their experiences at Glastonbury. They’re already inviting submissions at their MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/futurecinemaatglastonbury) and if you go and see them with your own camera, they may show your film on the big screen…
