TEN THINGS YOU MUST DO AT GLASTONBURY

Strange as it may seem – and believe us, nothing is ever considered that strange at Glastonbury – it’s amazing to see a huge crowd of “relaxed” people applauding an everyday miracle. That miracle is the spectacle of the sun peeking its head over the horizon from the vantage point of the Sacred Space.

Situated in the Green Fields at the highest point and furthest edge of the festival site, the Sacred Space is home to the Stone Circle, part of the Glastonbury area's ancient mystic heritage. As such, it's an excellent place for festival-going nutters to congregate at all times of the day, but the best time is, surprisingly, dawn.

As the sound of tribal drums and late-night noodling from the direction of the Stone Circle continues, the first rays of morning light that make their way across the valley are greeted with cheers, whoops and a very British round of applause. There's nothing like it anywhere else on Earth.

So take a jumper (it gets cold at night), find yourself a dry spot of grass and sit down to watch a new day dawn on Glastonbury. Then you can go back to your tent and have some much needed kip.
