Glastonbury 2007 has now officially begun - the camping sites opened at 8am this morning (20 June) and the first festival-goers have already started to pitch their tents.
Weather-wise, it looks like we're in for some rain - the BBC's local weather forecaster Richard Angwin claims that you will need your wellies, but that reports of the muddiest Glastonbury ever have been exaggerated. "Don't believe the 'doom and gloom' outlooks you see on some television channels and in the tabloids," he says on the BBC website. "They delight in a muddy Glastonbury. It makes for great images. You will need waterproofs and wellies at Glastonbury. The risk of showers will really increase for Thursday and Friday. But even on these wet days there will be some patches of blue sky and sunshine. As for the weekend, we expect further showers although they may not be quite as heavy as earlier in the Festival."
