Great Glastonbury Moments: Robbie goes mental

In 1995, Robbie Williams and Take That had a less-than-amicable divorce and the so-called “fat dancer” decided to get over the trauma by immediately high-tailing it to Glastonbury and attempting to become bezzie mates with Oasis. Despite Mr Williams hailing from Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, he hoped he would endear himself to the Gallaghers by adopting a comedy Manc accent and commenting, “I’ve been mad-fer-it but on-one’s been mad-fer-it with me. I’m going to carry on being mad-fer-it and see if anyone gets mad-fer-it.”

The final straw for Noel Gallagher was when “The Robster” invaded the stage as Oasis played Shakermaker and danced about in a manners described as “embarrassing”, having already blacked out one of his teeth with a black marker pen. The relationship was to go downhill from there.
