Should they have turned The Killers up?

Michael Eavis said it was “meteorological conditions” that meant the sound had to be turned down during The Killers’ set on Saturday night, to make sure that the festival kept within the acceptable limits set down by Mendip Council’s license. Presumably, the clear night meant that Shepton Mallet was in danger of being blasted by Mr Brightside at some point. But did it spoil the festival for you? Did The Killers come across loud and proud from where you were standing, or was their set a bit half-hearted? And what were those antlers on Brandon Flowers’ keyboards all about?

Mr Flowers has publicly commented that he was somewhat nervous before headlining the Pyramid Stage and that may have come across in the performance. However, drummer Ronnie Vannucci, claims that they had black magic on their side, as he revealed to Q shortly before taking the stage (see the interview here).

“Killers were good but I couldn’t hear them that well,” said Roxy on these very pages. However, Nicola claims that “They were fucking awesome!! loved them!” While there’s no need for profanity, opinion seems to be 50/50.

What do you think? Did The Killers deliver, or did you wish that you were invading the stage over at Iggy And The Stooges? Let us know your views here.

Didn't even bother seeing them as we were too busy having a ball with Iggy on stage!
No one turned the sound down on the STOOGES, what a great preformance.

Re: Should they have turned The Killers up?

We had a good view of the stage, fairly near the front and to the right and the sound was awful! I love The Killers but it was like listening to a quiet radio at the other end of the garden!! I could hear peoples conversations around me!! Total disappointment and definate low point of the festival.

I was within 100 yards of the stage to the right of the sound desk and the sound was very poor...so poor we left half way thru due to frustration. We all had the Killers as our "must see" so very disappointing!

Re: Should they have turned The Killers up?

The sound was LOW!! Full stop all weekend. Very low. I had to put up with the chattering classes ruining Amy Winehouse, "O, we done this, O we done that" Fuck off please!!When you tell them to Shhhh you get that inbred idiot look, then they carry on chatting. Plus whats with all the brollies? Anyone else get stuck behind them, NO NEED! Sorry but, Glasto is turning into THE big corporate event, I kid you not!! On the plus side with all the rain & mud they might decide to give it a miss next year, doubt it though.. Down with the fence, bring back the scallies & Stella out a wheelbarrow sellers, lets get a bit of danger back in Glastonbury. Please, please tell the chattering, brolly brigade to go back to the Proms!! This is a fantastic music festival, not a party in the park with a bit of background music. Please sort it out. PS: No Q review at exit B (bus station) @ 8:30 in the morning, gutted. What happened there???

Re: Re: Should they have turned The Killers up?

I totally agree, theres so many 'space fillers' who stand round nodding their heads at the back of gigs who whinge when u push through to get to the front to actually enjoy the band. They clearly only want to be there so when they go home they can sit around at dinner parties explaining what an 'experience' glastonbury was

Re: Should they have turned The Killers up?

From were I was standing I agree with the "fucking awesome" comment, the ground was shaking, if people complain about not being able to here them then maybee they should have turned up earlier, if you ewere in the next field then what did you expect ?
