Franz Ferdinand have revealed they will be playing this year's festival as one of the "special guests".

The band's name had been withheld from the programme and advance publicity with a number of the slots on stages filled only by "very special guests".

But they confirmed their show at the smaller Park Stage on Friday night with a low-key announcement on their website. It read simply "Friday Night. Glastonbury. Park Stage, 10pm. xxxx"
