It was a booking that raised a few eyebrows. Then Noel Gallagher put the cat among the pigeons by responding to the news that Jay-Z was to headline the Pyramid stage by saying he was "not having hip-hop at Glastonbury".

So the big man won a huge amount of respect for having the front - and good humour - to start his set with a montage of clips which replayed the whole affair and gave his performance that extra sense of anticipation; the sort that precedes every Glastonbury "moment". Watch it again here ....
